Our history
Netgrid Base Consulting began when three former colleagues — a chartered accountant, a municipal planning researcher, and a retail operations manager — found themselves answering the same question from friends and relatives: “Should I actually open this shop?”
After informal advice proved insufficient for serious decisions, they formalised their methodology into structured feasibility studies. The firm incorporated in Tainan in 2016 and has since completed over 180 venture assessments across food service, health and wellness, education, and specialty retail.
We chose Tainan as our base because the city’s mix of historic districts, university corridors, and industrial zones creates distinct micro-markets that generic national data often misrepresents. Our analysts live here and conduct field research on foot.
How we work
We are not a volume consultancy. Each study is assigned to one lead analyst who visits the proposed site, counts competitors, and speaks with neighbouring shopkeepers when appropriate. Reports are written in plain language with every assumption visible — no black-box scoring.
We decline engagements where we perceive a conflict of interest, such as evaluating a property owned by a referring agent without disclosure.
